So chilly outside
it's knocking my knees.
Please send in donations;
we need more degrees.

They're all the same to me

It's said and repeated that snowflakes all differ;
there aren't any twins anywhere.
Outside there are billions
to shovel and right now
I can't recall why I should care.

I'd like to attend
but I cannot just now;
I'm stuck in my driveway
awaiting the plow.

Outside: wind and blizzard
and freezing ice fog;
Inside: pile of blankets
and (snoozing) the dog.

He's not at all worried
and hasn't a care;
he checked before napping --
there's bacon to spare.

The thing about snow --
and we've got lots, you know --
you really must slow
on the road if you go.

So you might turn up late,
but a much better fate
is to sight tight and wait
for the storm to abate.
