and then return home
where it's warmer, and rains
while behind you
the chilly white layer remains.

Slush Time

We've just received more gloomy snow;
the slushy kind sends spirits fading;
it's both snow and rain, you know,
you need to have high boots for wading.

The plows drive through at twenty-slow
for slushy plowing; stuff clears badly
sounds of wetly splashing snow
affect me somehow; deeply, sadly.

Season changes , one and all,
are stimulating times for me.
Spring to summer, then to fall,
but slush? I view it grumpily.
