Terrier czar
riding in car
requires lap.
Nap.

Labrador (black)
prefers the back 
delightful breeze.
Sneeze. 

Pugnacity

While a pekinese peeks
and a schnauzer will schnauze,
the pug thinks big thoughts
beneath small furrowed brows. 

Snow day

Outside: wind and blizzard
and freezing ice fog;
Inside: pile of blankets
and (snoozing) the dog.

He's not at all worried
and hasn't a care;
he checked before napping --
there's bacon to spare.

Playtimes

One little dog is claiming
that she wants to go and play
in the snow outside the house
that's fallen on the ground today.

The other little dog says
there's no way that's what she wants;
she'd much prefer just staying
here inside her nice warm haunts.

They're both dogs -- one loves winter
while the other just says "brrrr."
I really think it all comes down
to different kinds of fur.

Where is that pork chop

To live in the moment
most doggies are able;
they don't muse "what if
I snitch food from that table".
