Fire and ice

My fireplace works,
the flames decorate,
the chimney vents smoke,
logs fit in the grate,
but a fire needs air
in a volume so great
that it leaves my whole house
in a chillier state.

Owing to mowing
my lawn is now glowing
but they all look the same
from each passing Boeing.
