The title Simplify, Simplify is a quotation from Thoreau, and it describes my approach to both design and writing.
This site is hosted by SquareSpace.com, which has a very impressive set of site editing, management, and design tools. Nevertheless I don't always write content here in a browser. My favorite writing tools are text editors, especially BBEdit. I prefer using Macs, but I also have PCs, and from time to time even install Linux or BSD on one of my systems — although less and less, I find.
I live in Concord, NH in a house that's not exactly rural nor suburban. We're surrounded by trees and have no visible neighbors, but we're also just 10 minutes from town.
For the past few years I've been working on interaction design for mobile platforms and applications. At the moment I'm a Principal UX Designer at Nokia, but if you've seen any recent news about Nokia, you probably know as well as I do I'm going to be doing something else pretty soon!
I've also developed software, worked in instructional design and technical writing, and taught writing, usability testing, interaction design, and XML.
